James Pipe was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Canadian parents and has lived in Michigan all his life. He played soccer at Washtenaw Christian Academy (Saline, MI) and for Ann Arbor United Soccer Club during high school. He played soccer while studying at Cornerstone University from 2014-2019. In 2015, James received both The Most Improved Player award and the Maguma Masada award which is given to players who show outstanding dedication and work ethic. In 2018, he was recognized twice as Player of the Week and then Play of the Year for a goal scored in a Conference game. James is very excited about contributing to Michigan Stars FC as they play in the new NISA league. He says that the owners and coaches have an excellent vision that he is greatly excited to be a part of.
