Steven began his youth career with TSF Academy. At the age of 14 he won Sueño MLS, a national soccer scouting/contest where winner would a tryout with an MLS Academy. Right after he signed for New York RedBull academy. After club soccer he played at Kean University for a semester, before transferring to Fairleigh Dickinson University where he played for 2 and half years. After college Steven signed his first Professional contract at the age of 21 for Madriz F.C in Nicaraguas First Division where he had 9 appearances in his first season, including a start in the National Cup Final.
